Back cover of Hermenaut #1

Our apartment on Lourdes Avenue is where Susan (and our roommate Rob Agredo) and I met Mimi Lipson, who owned the building and lived on the third floor. My friend Craig Spalter lived on the first floor; through Craig, we met James Parker, who came to stay for a while. (Through James, I began to correspond with Tom Hodgkinson, who’d just started The Idler; I became their American contributing editor.) Mimi and James have remained good friends of ours since, and both of them write regularly for HILOBROW.

The blank spot on the back cover was for writing the name of a subscriber (or someone who purchased the zine via Factsheet Five, say), and affixing postage.
