Chris Fujiwara has the temerity, not only to call Stanley Kubrick overrated — an “American art movie director for people who don’t want to know about the art of John Ford and Vincente Minnelli” — but to compare his 1957 antiwar film Paths of Glory unfavorably with that of the 1965 Annette Funicello / Frankie Avalon musical comedy Beach Blanket Bingo. Amazing!

The essay’s title, by the way, references another 1965 Annette / Frankie musical comedy: How to Stuff a Wild Bikini.
