The Animated Poets Society

YouTube channel of the week: poetryanimations, where portraits and photographs of the likes of Baudelaire, Dickinson, and Tennyson are moved to recite their works, often in the poets’ own voices. My attention was captured by Wallace Stevens, impassive as a bullfrog, reading his “No Ideas But In Things”. The animations are the work of Jim Clark, a videographer and sound recordist based in London. Clark mars his work with too-frequent copyright declarations in bold type. But as a selection of online hilobrow curiosa, his short movies are worth a look.
