Yes, this is the paradox of a semiosphere — it arises from us, but also constitutes us in certain respects. Is the semiotician, like a Jedi, someone able — through intuition, rigorous training, and intensive self-discipline — to “wield” this metaphysical and ubiquitous power? Does an ability to do so require one to be “Force-sensitive” (semiosphere-sensitive)?
Some Force-sensitive characters in the Star Wars franchise derive special, psychic abilities from it, such as telekinesis, mind control, and extrasensory perception. In our non-fantasy world, are there parallels?
