We are delighted to present LINOCUT 2025, the latest in a calendrical series of prints created (in this case, during 2025) by HILOBROW friend and brother-in-law Lawry Hutcheson.
Potato learns to float. Reading Ursula Le Guin’s translation of The Tao Te Ching and puzzling with the idea of ‘do without doing’. Supposed to be a little funny; like the Tao Te Ching. An experiment in transparent color layering: First the brown of the potato skin and the blue of the sky. Then the green of the water covering the submerged part of the potato. And last the white, reflective surface on top of the water. Each layer of ink representing some physical layer in the ‘real’ world.
