We are delighted to present LINOCUT 2025, the latest in a calendrical series of prints created (in this case, during 2025) by HILOBROW friend and brother-in-law Lawry Hutcheson.
Looking across the street from our 3rd floor front porch early in the morning. Inspired by Hiroshige’s 100 Famous Views of Edo. Messing around with color. Colors go on one at a time, layer by layer. You can add extender to make the ink more transparent, so each layer is affected more or less by the layers beneath it. It would take an impossible amount of testing to be sure of how things were going to turn out, so you just have to make a plan and go for it. I’m pleased with the subtle shades of yellow in the railing. A little jumpy overall. Not sure I captured the predawn light.
