This series of WHITE STADIUM linocut prints, created during 2025 by HILOBROW friend and brother-in-law Lawry Hutcheson, are a subset of his LINOCUT 2025 series.

Here’s the latest of White Stadium.
Things are pretty quiet with the demolition phase complete and construction of the new stadium out for bid. All that’s left of the West Grandstand is the curved exterior wall, supported from behind by scaffolding. The surface is a patchwork of white paint and grey concrete and you can see right through the square windows. They’ve dug a preliminary foundation hole in front, surrounded by a fence.
I did the sketch for this one over two afternoons and saw a bunch of people: A guy in a red shirt jogging laps. Some people on blue bikes. A couple of city interns chatting while they cleaned out a storm drain. A guy methodically breaking off small branches in the woods to either side of me while repeating the phrase “Best communication genius” over and over. An enthusiastic young guy on a motor scooter wanted to see what I was doing and know how long it took me to learn to draw. A parent I know from the Hernandez going by with her stroller reminded me it was time to stop drawing and get the kids.
