One in a series of posts exhuming the juvenilia and significant objects of HILOBROW’s Josh Glenn.
Not long ago, I recounted the history of Paradise Publications, an imprint — circa 1983 — of chapbooks published by a 16-year-old yours truly and my best friend, John Dooley Cradock.
Here, for your amusement and edification, are the covers of Paradise Publications nos. 2–6. As you can see, we were having fun with genre conventions… and our collective persona, O’Malley Boylston Schwartz, was conceived of as a rather desperate hack — clamoring for attention.

No. 2: Two Çellected Woerks of the LatenGerate O8Malley Sschweartzsc

No. 3: “SOME MOER?” 3 all new twisted tales, by the King of Sub-Amateur, O’Malley B. Schwartz

No. 4: Several ‘Seldom-Sought’s, by the Master of Mediochrity: O’Malley B. Schwartz

No. 5: The Newest and the Bestest. Boylston Schwartz really went ta town on dis one, kiddies. Buy IT!!

No. 6: REALITY IN STEREO, NO, TECHNICOLOR, by Ramblin’ O’Malley B. Schwartz.
