I continue to interview commercial/applied semioticians around the world for the MAKING SENSE Q&A series at SEMIOVOX. As of mid-November, MAKING SENSE will go on hiatus.

Kingston (NY)’s Karlie Flood’s The Unwind Times is the latest example of her one-woman/family constellation of local events, publications, merchandise, and more that collectively raise awareness around mental heath issues, and in particular spread the message about the importance to one’s mental health of creativity and passion. (REWIND is her family’s thrift / vintage store in midtown Kingston; REMIND is a project that involves sending uplifting reminders; UNWIND is a free craft café and mental health hub (also a music venue, and print newspaper); and BE KIND creates free community, wellness, mental health training and events to connect the Kingston community.) I’m the sidekick to Karlie’s mother Joanne in a new Q&A series called FROM THE HEART.
