At his Flickr account, this past week, frequent HiLobrow contributor Joe Alterio shared the first few panels from a comic — on the history of videogames — which he’s created for a book I’m co-editing, tentatively titled The Kid’s Field Guide to Life. Bloomsbury will publish the book next November. I’m grateful to Joe (who is contributing four comics to the book!) for giving us something we can show off in the meantime.
Other contributors to the Field Guide who’ve also written for HiLobrow include: Deb Chachra, Matthew De Abaitua, Geoff Manaugh, Tom Nealon, and Douglas Rushkoff. Introduction by our friend Mark Frauenfelder.
Elizabeth Larsen is the book’s coeditor; Tony Leone is the designer. Mark Reusch and Heather Kasunick are the illustrators. It’s a crackerjack team!
