We are delighted to present LOU REED’S NEPHEW, a 10-part series featuring collages created by HILOBROW friend Jim Hanas as illustrations for his “wickedly smart, highly entertaining” 2023 email serial of the same title.
Why does a deliberate crop that creates a decapitated man – in this case, from an ad for bowling balls – feel perfectly balanced (even out of context) in a way that an image decapitated by the collagist does not? (No matter how hard I try.)
