SCREENSHOTS is a monthly series of posts via which HILOBROW’s Josh Glenn reviews his most recent screenshots — before deleting them from the over-full Dropbox folder to which they’d been uploaded. Also see the PHOTO DUMP series.

Social media graphic touting HILOBROW’s recent series about some of our science fiction novels and comics from 1974–1983.

HILOBROW’s still-new MEDIA DIET series is still going strong.

Hannah Höch’s “Collage II (On Filet Ground)” (c. 1925)

I’m stepping back from my role as convenor of the Semiofest Sessions — a monthly online series that I helped start five years ago. Here’s the poster from my 48th and final session as convenor. I’m sure that I’ll continue to participate in the sessions in other ways, though.

Found illustration for my introduction to HILOBROW’s upcoming series PATSY YOUR ENTHUSIASM, about favorite country songs from the Fifties (154–1963).

Panels from a 1976 comic (Hello, I’m Johnny Cash) that made a big impression on me when I was a kid. Found all of the Spire Christian Comics at the Internet Archive when I was writing about a Johnny Cash song for HILOBROW’s PATSY YOUR ENTHUSIASM series.

The Eater of Darkness is a neo-Dadaist proto-sf novel, by Robert M. Coates, first published in 1926. This detail from its cover will be used when HILOBROW serializes the book later this year.

*

I’m slowly translating a French story — about an encounter between Antarctic explorers and an extraterrestrial creature — for serialization at HILOBROW.

Fun slide from Tim Stock’s presentation during this month’s Semiofest Session dedicated to the topic of VISCOSITY REDUX.
