Susan has been skiing, skating, snow-shoeing, etc., during the amazingly snowy winter we’re having here. But I’ve been too busy with work, plus other projects, to join in the fun. Barely any photos, this month…

Robyn Hager, Karlie Flood, Bridget Badore, Melanie Cozzolino, Julian Richards, others gathered on the 8th for an experimental object-oriented story telling event.
Susan and I spent over an hour at MoMA’s Ruth Asawa retrospective…. We’ve seen Asawa’s work at exhibits before, but this scale of this one is extraordinary and inspiring. I was particularly drawn, this time, to her iron wire sculptures from c. 1950–55 that look like this one. Though the spherical ones remain my favorites, this form here (an others like it) helps me engage productively with Yeats’ metaphorical / diagrammatic notion of the sociocultural “gyre.”

It snowed 21 inches here in Kingston, from the 25th to the 26th. And more on the way. That’s our neighbor Don in the background, snow-blowing our sidewalk and driveway.
