Partial view of the audience — there were, we think, about 75 folks in attendnce — at the GIVE IT UP event, just before we got started. In this shot alone, I spot so many friends new and old, including Camp Kingston owner Sam Shapiro, HILOBROW friends and contributing editors Adam McGovern and Heather Quinlan, Paul Lukas, Will Hermes, Sari Botton, Maggie Inge, Don Tallerman, Melanie Cozzolino, Halimah Marcus, Sidney Flood, and Bridget Badore. Wow!
After the event, the GIVE IT UP team — Rob Walker and I, Susan, Karlie Flood, Bridget Badore, and Tommy Sullivan — repaired to the Stockade tavern for a post-mortem. Along with special guests Max (at right) and Paul Lukas.
For a while, a few years ago, I was into photographing flowers at night. Can’t remember why I stopped. I suppose there wasn’t any reason….
Art (by Dilara Miller) that caught my eye at the 2025 Teaching Artists Show at the DRAW Gallery. The exhibit showcases work by the staff and teaching artists of the Midtown Kingston Arts District. Through October 25th.
