A collection of photos taken during the past month by HILOBROW’s Josh Glenn. Also see the SCREENSHOTS series; and see HILOBROW’s Instagram feed.

Max and I participated in NYC’s Five Boro Bike Tour, on May 4th. Forty miles, partly in the driving rain, in just over three hours. Super fun! Max, who is a beast, somehow accomplished this on their fixie.

My sister Laurie’s children always send me very heart-warming thank-you notes.

Comics by Kingston artists of all ages, purchased at World’s End Comics.

Lez Zeppelin covering Physical Graffiti in its entirety. Excellent. At the Colony in Woodstock (NY).

A Radium Age series title spotted at a public library in the Bronx. Photo sent by HILOBROW friend (and Radium Age series advisor) Kara Lynch.

Painting/drawing made while on hold with the insurance company.

I’ve been crashing with my brother Pat when I return to Boston, lately. Found this on his bookshelf, from when I was 13. In 1981 my father and I spent a week in Paris, and he left me to my own devices most of the time. So when I wasn’t roaming around on the Métro, or watching American movies (Rocky, Death Race 2000, among others — they loved Stallone, I guess) dubbed into French, I’d read any English-language literature that I could get my hands on.

Tatiana Florival’s video sculpture “Memory Box” (2023), one of the best things I saw at Justine Kurland’s exhibit THE ROSE when it came to the CPW in Kingston. It feels like the inside of my brain. PS: We’d gone to the CPW to see LARRY FINK: SENSUAL EMPATHY, curated by HILOBROW friend Lucy Sante. Also a terrific exhibit, one showcasing what Sante calls Fink’s “rapid eye, his almost painterly chiaroscuro, and his identification with the human beings he photographed, good, bad, or ugly.” Both exhibits will run through August, check them out!

HILOBROW friend Sabine Hrechdakian invited us to a screening of the extraordinary outlaw-country documentary Heartworn Highways at TSL (Time & Space Limited) in Hudson, NY. I’ve had recurring dreams about spaces like TSL; I need to return soon…

Difficult-to navigate-parking lot at The Colony, in Woodstock (NY).

Cragsmoor Stone Church, in Cragsmoor (NY). From the inside, you can see that each of the squares features a symbol/sigil from one of the world’s major religions.

Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, in Ulster (NY).

Murdered-out stickers on the back of a gas station’s display board, in Kingston.
