Louis Zukofsky (1904 – 1978) was an American poet. He was the primary instigator and theorist of the so-called "Objectivist" poets. Zukofsky's major work was the very long poem "A" — which he began in 1928 and would work on intermittently for most of the rest of his life, finally completing the poem in 1974.
