GIVE IT UP: Samuel

One in a series of posts about Josh Glenn and Rob Walker’s latest object-oriented storytelling project. GIVE IT UP’s exhibits and events (in Kingston, NY) will run from August 15 through September 10.
Samuel Shapiro is a hospitality consultant and owner of Camp Kingston, a local cafe, bar, and social community gathering space in Kingston NY. His family owned Camp Sequoia, a summer camp in Sullivan County, for 75 years — and Camp Kingston is an homage to that special time in life and his family’s commitment to fun outside. Samuel is proud to have grown up in the Hudson Valley as a mountain kid staring at the stars.
For the GIVE IT UP project, Samuel is reluctantly willing to be persuaded to give up… his BIRCH BARK. GIVE IT UP will publish Samuel’s nonfiction narrative about this object in August — at which time we’ll invite you to participate in the effort to persuade him!
